Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's

When Should I Contact The Mover

The sooner, the better. Our schedule fills up quickly, especially in the summer. Even if you are not ready to lock in move dates, it’s a good idea to get a free quote so you can budget for the move.

How Much Will My Move Cost

Every move is unique. That’s why it’s important for your mover to perform a visual survey, either in person or via video. If you are moving to another state, pricing is based on the distance and the weight of the items moving. Local moves are based on an hourly rate determined by the number of movers needed for your move.

How Do I Avoid A Price Increase On Move Day?

Some movers base their pricing on cubic feet. On move day, they can claim that your goods do not fit in the space allotted and charge more money. For interstate moves, our estimator will give you a binding estimate based on the items you are moving and the services you requested. This eliminates any nasty surprises on move day.

How Can I Save Money On My Move?

We’ve written a whole blog post on this one. You can check it out HERE. Do a thorough declutter and find a new home for anything you haven’t used recently. Don’t pay to move things you don’t need…

How Long Does It Take To Move?

Transit time is determined by the size of your shipment, time required to load and unload, and the destination of your shipment. If you are moving long distance, we sometimes combine shipments in separate sections on the truck for the most efficient, economical operation. We will work with your schedule to plan a delivery window that works best for your individual situation.

Are You Insured?

We carry commercial general liability and workers compensation insurance to protect your property and our employees during the move process. You have the option to select Full Value Protection or Released Value Liability to cover loss or damage to the items we are moving. The liability for loss or damage is based upon our tariffs, as well as federal laws and regulations, and has certain limitations and exclusions. These protection plans are not insurance; they are a tariff-based level of motor carrier liability. If you would like to insure your belongings, contact your insurance company representative.

How Do I Avoid Being Scammed By A Rogue Mover

The internet is filled with move brokers who will sell your information to the highest bidder. Choose a mover with a local brick and mortar presence who insists on a visual survey, whether in home or using video technology. Make sure you feel comfortable with the mover’s credentials. Check them out on the Better Business Bureau and look at their Online Reviews. A responsible mover may have a few complaints, however its record should show that they have a satisfactory rating and that they respond to and resolve complaints.

What If My New Place Isn't Ready For Move-In

We can arrange for long or short-term storage at origin or destination. Pricing is based on a monthly or daily rate, depending on the length of time needed. Your household goods will be vaulted and stored in a modern, climate-controlled warehouse until your new home is ready.

Can I The Mover Pack Only Fragile Items?

Sure. Talk to your relocation consultant about pricing for a partial pack. We can also give you tips for doing the packing yourself. However, keep in mind that packing your own shipment can be a long, tedious process. The money spent for a full pack may be worth the time it takes you to pack yourself.

What Payment Methods Are Accepted?

We accept all major credit cards, or you can pay with a cashier’s check. If you decide to pay with a credit card, your card will be charged the day before the move. Or you can give a cashier’s check to the van operator on the delivery day. The van operator can’t accept a credit card, so we need to get this squared away prior to your move date.
